SET EXERCISE

SET EXERCISE

This Saturday October 29th we will be conducting our annual SET EXERCISE. The purpose of this exercise is to test our equipment and readiness for a actual emergency situation. Members who participate will be asked to do various tasks during the exercise. Our Emergency Communications Trailer will be setting up at a undisclosed location and will be the control station during the event. Sorry we cannot provide any additional information because this is a test of our ability to provide emergency communications and backup to our 1st responders in our area.

Some common skills utilized for SET Exercises include:
Prepping for remote / portable ops
Simplex testing
Mapping and logging
Net Operating protocols

Please be listening to the 2m repeater this Saturday October 29th between 0830 and 0900 am for instructions. We ask as many of you who can to please participate. After the exercise we will be getting together at a location that will be announced during the event for a debrief and Chili Lunch w/ refreshments around 1100-1130am. If you are going to attend lunch please feel free to bring something.

Live Stream Down

**UPDATE**:  A Bandaid fix has been applied and so far seems to help. Please give it a try and report back to admin@wa0sdo.org.  Hope this helps Doc who I assume is deployed with FEMA.

Six of you streamed the net last evening (Oct. 2).
Please give me some feedback on your audio quality
so I can finalize the repair.

The Broadcastify feed, although still listed as “online” is down until further notice.

Somewhere along the way the live stream developed a loud screech on some but not all transmissions and I just noticed it. I find nothing wrong on my end and Broadcastify can find nothing wrong on their end. My trouble ticket even got escalated to the CEO of the company and she investigated herself and came up with nothing. The story of my life – “wow, I’ve never seen that problem before”!

Looks like it is going to take some down and dirty troubleshooting to find this one.
