Our August meeting has been moved to the 12th so our members can attend the Warrensburg Hamfest.

EMA planning on conducting a siren test this Wednesday July 5th at noon. Following the test at approximately 12:10 pm we will have a Weather Net Exercise. Forecast is calling for rain, so stay tuned test might be canceled.

Just worked the original 13 colonies. Now going for the 3 extra stations. At least will get a certificate for the 13. Happy hunting everyone. KE0QYA

ARRL Field Day

Join SPARK on Saturday June 24th for ARRL Field Day. This years location will be at EMA Headquarters located at 1511 N. Ohio in Sedalia. Set up for the radios will begin around 10am. We will start operating at 1pm local time and hopefully do it for 24 hours. This is a great opportunity for members to work HF radio. We are planning to have a potluck dinner around 6pm. Club will provide burgers, hot dogs, plates, bowls, and utensils. Just bring your favorite covered dish. Great opportunity to hang out, invite a friend who might be interested in ham radio, and hopefully make contacts all around the world. We will cease operating on Sunday June 25th at 1pm. Hope to see everyone there.

Size DOES Matter!

I  checked the APRS map this morning and caught Mark, K0NYE road trippin’. He hit the Sedalia Igate past where he crossed the river at Lexington. Google Maps measured it at 49 miles. Something to be said about having your Igate antenna at 400+ feet!

Update: I looked again later and he hit the Sedalia Igate  when he was passing  through Polo at 72 miles. Good job on the Igate Steve and Doc!

Special Delivery

Had a great time visiting my friend Philip (KJ5ZW) in Texas this past weekend. Although the trip was a short one, I did make some lasting memories. And yes I did deliver his brownies that he won because nobody guessed that he was the “Who’s It” in a past newsletter.
